Threes, Sixes & Thieves by Julie B. Cosgrove

Julie B. Cosgrove latest Bunco Biddies Mystery

Sunset Acres isn't safe. Thieves are targeting homes with threes and sixes in their house numbers. Caught in the act, one robber is arrested, but later found hanged in his jail cell. The police claim it's a suicide. Janie and her Bunco Biddies worry there might be dirty cops in Alamoville...but who can they convince?

My Review:  The ringleader of the Bunco Biddies, Janie and her son-in-law, Detective Blake Johnson, are recovering from their last case which landed them in the hospital. Now Blake is finally going to take a much needed vacation to reconnect with his family.

Before he leaves, there’s a robbery at Sunset Acres and of course, Janie is knee deep in solving it, so much so that the chief of police asks for her help. He’s a little too friendly and

Janie isn’t sure of his intentions. Something is going on and she’s determined to find out what it is.

In book three of the series, Ms. Cosgrove continues with the laughable but skillful, Bunco Biddies. Janie and her friends are true amateur sleuths. While the light comedic format flows through the three novels in this series, this particular plot is more complex. You really don’t know who committed the crime until the very end. Great suspense with a heartwarming ending.
