Reached the Penicle

I made it to number one on the inspirational best seller's list Wednesday night, 12.11.07. Then, I discovered on Thursday, 12.14.07, that I was eighth in overall sales. I'm so grateful to everyone who downloaded the book.

I've been caught up in Christmas and need to get some serious editing time on Cairo so I can present it to TWRP after the first of the year.

Blessings - and have a wonderful Christmas.

Second Contract

I received a second contract from the Wild Rose Press this past week for a Historical short story, In the Shadow of My Heart.

I'm looking forward to working with the editorial team.

Cairo, the sequel to Alvarado Gold, is almost done and should be sent to TWRP in January if not sooner.

Busy Day

It has been a busy day for me. Today was release day and I was up at 5:00 a.m. checking out The Wild Rose Press to see if my book had been posted - and it was! I think I looked at it at least fifty times today and pinched myself a couple of times, too.

A great group of ladies, all writers, too me to lunch and we had a great time "talking shop" and I was given flowers and we had the most decadent chocolate mousse.

I had a lot of support getting here and I truly appreciate every one's help every step along the way.

I'm going to call it a night. But I'll probably go look at my cover one more time :)

Release week has finally arrived

Well, here it is ~ my release week. I've worked pretty hard this last week getting my ducks in order, so to speak, and hope I've done all the right things for my release.

Gary and Addie, my hero and heroine, are waiting to spring forth and be real somewhere else other than inside my head.

I'm working diligently on the sequel, Cairo, too. Addie and Gary visit Egypt and discover their love can endure a separation and hardship.

Check out The Wild Rose Press on Friday, November 16, for the release of Alvarado Gold.

Have a blessed week.

Interview with Rose Ross Zediker

Rose is one of the authors with Wild Rose Press. Her soon to be released book: Through the Eyes of Love is one of the books in the inspirational, White Rose line.

Here are few of the questions she answered for me:

Q. When did you start writing?
A. I started writing in 1991. I took a correspondence course for children's writing.

Q. How do you make time for your writing?

A. I write in the evenings and on weekends since I also have a full time job. I don't set a certain number of words or pages to write a day, instead I set monthly goals and strive to meet them. I treat my writing career as a part time job.

Q. Who is your favorite character in your book and why?

A. I think that Mrs. Schulz is my favorite character because she is the "bad person". Even though she is a minor character, she was fun to write because I could make her as opinioned and mean as I wanted.

Q. How long did it take you to write your book?

A.This book began as a first chapter/synopsis contest entry. I wrote the rough draft of the book in about six weeks. I began revising the manuscript while I waited for the contest results. I didn't win and put the book away for a while, then I decided to get it out and finish it. So, it took working on it on and off for about two years to get it ready to submit for publication.

Dinner at the Library

Tonight was the annual Friends of the Library fundraising dinner. The main floor of the downtown central library was turned into an elegant restaurant. Each table had a host/hostess and each spoke on a different topic.

My table was mystery and my hostess asked me to talked about my connection with The Wild Rose Press and my book.

It was a wonderful evening and I was asked if I might host a table next year. If I do, it will be on genealogy - and that's how Alvarado Gold started - from a family story.

I was pleased I had the opportunity to talk about my book and my favorite publishing company.

A Dream Come True

Dear Friends and Family~

I couldn’t believe my eyes on June 8, 2007, when I opened an email from The Wild Rose Press asking if I wanted to pursue a contract.

The story about my family and in some cases “our” family is about to be published. Alvarado Gold is my dream come true.

If you’d like to download the complete version you
may do so on November 16, 2007, & if you want the book itself to hold in your hand, that happens May 16, 2008.

To borrow a phrase from Walt Disney. “A dream is a wish your heart makes.”

Dare to dream, they do come true.
